Are dental implants detected or cause beeping in a metal detector

Dental implants generally do not set off metal detectors or cause beeping because they are usually made of titanium or zirconia, which are biocompatible materials with a low magnetic response. Titanium, especially, is a common implant material and doesn’t have enough magnetic or conductive properties to trigger most airport or security metal detectors.

In rare cases where the detector is highly sensitive, a dental implant could theoretically register as metal, but it would be highly unusual. If it does happen, you can simply inform the security officer, as medical implants are quite common and usually cause no issues.
